I've earned a Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health & Wellness from New York University where I've also earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology & Sociology. Thereafter, I became a fully licensed mental health counselor in New York State and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I completed further training and education at the Psychoanalytic Training Institute of the New York Counseling & Clinical Guidance Services and the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Studies Center (PPSC) in Manhattan where I received certification in psychoanalysis. At PPSC, I currently serve as Dean of Students and faculty in the 4-Year Program in Psychoanalysis.
As a bilingual (English/Spanish) psychotherapist who specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy I work to uncover the psychological sources of distress with a broad range of clients. My work is predominately with adult individuals and couples. Some of my specializations include: collaborating with clients on issues of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, interpersonal/relationship conflicts, personality disorders, and finding meaning and understanding. I strongly believe that a path toward mental health is based on an open and genuine collaboration between client and therapist; a relationship built on trust, honesty, and understanding.
